Avera St. Luke's Hospital Reduces Post-Acute Care Costs by 40% - Bundled Payments

March 20, 2017

For a health system to succeed in today’s healthcare environment, it is imperative to be proactive instead of reactive. Avera Health joined Premier’s Bundled Payment Collaborative before they opted in to the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Initiative (BPCI). In anticipation of mandated bundles across the country, the health system realized that in order to be successful they needed to learn as much as they could and put the right infrastructure in place to support their bundled payment program. With the help of Premier, St. Luke's was able to implement a comprehensive strategy across the continuum of care while reducing costs and improving quality.
